Recording a Zoom meeting can be helpful for lots of reasons, and creating separate audio files for each participant can make post-meeting editing much easier than trying to parse one big file. Someone says something profound or important about the topic at hand, but the moment passes without any record of what was said. Hopefully someone wrote it down, but if not, there could be an important piece of institutional knowledge lost the moment it was uttered.

Luckily, Zoom has the option to record meetings, both in audio and video format. There are a lot of reasons why someone would want to do so—creating a permanent record, easing the work of whoever is taking meeting minutes, giving participants or other employees the chance to watch it at another time or any number of additional cases.

SEE: Zoom vs. In addition to recording each person separately, Zoom also offers an option to optimize audio file formats for third-party video editors, which is important to enable if you plan to do editing of any kind. Cloud recordings have more options that can be configured through web settings , but that is currently not one of them.

Hi Bort Thank you for the prompt answer. I have a question for Zoom and possibly for Bort, I'm not sure if you work for them or are just a helpful community member : why is this not made clear anywhere that I can see, either in the Settings, or when one clicks to save a recording on the cloud where the setting in Zoom has pre-selected Individual Audio Files, or in any of the online FAQs that I have searched, including the one you linked to?

I would never have selected the cloud for saving had I known as much. Again, thanks for response. Hi LeagleAlien Not sure what to tell you.
